I was raised in a family of small business owners. My parents have owned and operated a beauty salon in Pueblo for more than three decades. Early on, I learned how the hard work and dedication of small businesses enhance our economy.
Small businesses are the back bone of Colorado's economy. In fact, in Pueblo, 85% of all new jobs are created by small businesses. On the state level, more than half of all jobs are in small business.
Creating jobs is my top priority. I have and will continue to work to remove barriers that cripple small businesses and entrepreneurs. When spending tax dollars and awarding state contracts, we have an obligation to create jobs where workers earn wages that pay the bills.
