We have the worst roads in the state, and with a growing population and newer businesses moving in, they must be fixed.
County commissioners can't do their jobs with out the funds, and we need to get them the funds to clean up our roads.
Not only do we have horrible roads, but they are a public safety issue. Highway 48/78 is one of the most heavily traveled roads in the district, but has the highest accident percentage than any of the other roads locally. Funding must be found- not created- to add shoulders to the highway.
With the growing population, and the high traffic areas of Highway 70- East and with the addition of the new by-pass around Durant, it is evident that the highway itself needs to be 4-laned- as was Highway 70-West.
