Our education system is lacking not only in our great state, but across the nation.
Educator's hands are tied! We now teach from a book to pass a test. We must put our children's futures back into the hands of our educators and not a test. Teaching future leaders of our district and country should be the main priority.
Provide college assistance for veterans, keep them here in our state and keep them in the work force.
We must find where the money generated from the Oklahoma Lottery and the passing of State Question 712 is appropriated in order to stabilize taxes for our education system. Funding for higher wages, better technology, and updated facilities can all be fund through the efficient appropriate of these two sources. With constant tax increases at the local and state levels, this should leave the tax payers of our great state asking where the money is going and how it is being spent.
Our educators are among the lowest paid public servants in the nation, and it is no surprise. The educators that we raise and train here in our state constantly flock to surrounding states. Instead of raising the taxes for books that should be paid for by the lottery and State Question 712, we should be using that money for higher wages for our educators and a better education for our students.
