Free enterprise and open market competition (capitalism) give people the incentive to get out of bed in the morning and do the best that they can to make a better or more efficient product or service.
Socialism in its various forms is generally not sustainable and eventually creates a sense of entitlement and a lack of incentive to work or try to improve one's condition or situation.
