U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), recently received a perfect voting index score from the American Security Council Foundation (ASCF). The annual voter index card released from ASCF evaluates the voting record of each member of Congress on national security issues.

"National security is the most important function of government," said Inhofe.

"At a time when the Obama administration is gutting our military through budget cuts, I am honored to receive this award from the ASCF. As the award demonstrates, I will continue making national security matters the highest priority. In order to remain a strong nation capable of deterring threats from across the globe, it is imperative that we strengthen our Armed Forces and modernize the equipment that our troops use in the field. That is extremely difficult to achieve with the budget cuts imposed by President Obama. Continuing these cuts will be devastating, so I will continue fighting on these issues."

ASCF Chairman Donald B. Smith said, "We are very pleased Senator Inhofe received a score of 100 percent and congratulate him on his achievement. We thank Senator Inhofe for his continued support of the principles of Peace Through Strength."
