Statement

June 14, 2012 is the 237th birthday of the United States Army and of course is Flag Day as well.

Our Army is the largest of our military branches as well as the oldest. While I have never been a member of the armed services, I like most Americans, take great pride in our military and all they do for us each and every day. I doubt anyone could imagine where we would be as a nation, if not for our military and of course, the United States Army on this special day.

Please remember our Army as well as all other branches are manned by volunteers. These great men and women have volunteered to join and defend our great nation and its citizens from harm's way. Please join with me by saying thank you to each and every one you meet through your day. They will appreciate the gesture and we will feel better thanking them for their sacrifice and courage to be on the frontlines for us. God Bless the Army on their birthday and all of our other military brethren and veterans.
