56 Days to Run-Off Victory

Statement

Dear Friends and Supporters,

To everyone that stepped up and supported our efforts with campaign contributions, shoe leather and countless hours talking to voters, thank you. Because of your tireless efforts, we are now counting down the days to victory on July 31st.

One week ago, a large group of supporters were huddled around our campaign headquarters waiting to see if we could do what many didn't think was possible. After four anxious hours, the results were in and we had forced a run-off for the 14th Congressional District.

Now, this may just be an Aggie talking, I am no professional politician, but I have to say, the "establishment" never saw us coming. After months of working hard, knocking doors and talking to voters, the people of the Texas 14th saw they had a choice.

Folks, on July 31st we have to make a decision. Who is the best person to beat Nick Lampson in the fall and who is the right person to represent our conservative values in Congress? I am not running for Congress because some Austin insiders want a friend who can scratch their backs in Washington DC. I am not running for Congress because I am a political insider or a career politician -- I am neither. I am running because we need a leader who is an outsider, someone who understands what it takes to defend freedom and keep government out of our way. I am running because I believe that, to preserve the American Dream, and ensure the brightest future for our country, we need a dedicated band of citizen legislators calling the shots -- defending the people, not the government.

The facts are simple, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are hurting our country. They are driving up our deficits -- more in the last 15 months than in the previous 97 Congress's! Obamacare is now law of the land -- we MUST repeal it. Our economy is shrinking and jobs are being destroyed -- we must move government out of the way so that small businesses create jobs and grow the economy.

But we cannot create a brighter future without your help. First, we need to win this race to send the best Republican into the general election to take on Nick Lampson. Right now, there are two things we need to accomplish that goal: donations and time.

If you are able, consider donating $25, $75 or $100. Every single dollar is bringing us closer to victory. I wish this wasn't the case; but, without your generous financial support, it will be difficult to compete on the air waves, in the mail boxes and at the doors against the career political establishment working against us.

Additionally, we need your help on the ground. We are successful when we are able to meet directly with the voters, one on one and talk about the importance of this election for the Gulf Coast of Texas.
