R. Allen Stanford Sentenced to 110 Years in Prison

Statement

By:
Date:
Location: Washington, DC

ep. John Culberson (TX-07) issued the following statement today in response to the sentencing of R. Allen Stanford:

"After more than three years, R. Allen Stanford was finally sentenced to 110 years in prison for cheating more than a thousand Texans out of their life savings. Many of the victims were teachers, nurses and firefighters, and these losses reflect most, if not all, of the retirement funds they accumulated over many years of hard work. No one can restore all that these victims lost. We cannot replace the trust that was violated, but today the victims can have some sense of relief that the man that robbed them and their families of a lifetime of work will never again be a free man."
