As a committed husband and father, Ward understands the importance of our families. Before serving in the legislature, he worked as a juvenile officer, working to protect our communities. As a state representative, he has been a leader on fighting crime.
In just his second term, he was chosen to serve as Chairman of the Committee on Children and Families. There, he was a leader in promoting pro-family, pro-children legislation. He also sponsored one of the nation's first laws banning synthetic marijuana, known as K2, after reports of widespread use, and deaths, among teens.
