We must consider why a business would want to operate or locate in Missouri, besides what type of tax credit or incentives that we can offer. We must create and maintain an overall business environment that encourages businesses large and small to want to be in Missouri without having special programs or incentives. A good infrastructure or means of conductingfor trade, manufacturing or and services is critical to our economic recovery. I will support maintaining our state highway improvement plans, expanding rail transportation and our ports of trade. I will also support measures to expand broadband and fiber optic utility services across the state and services that support the use of new technologies. Holding to these priorities we can pursue the following job creation efforts:

Support the passage of the Jobs for the Future Act to allow Liberty to partner with a research institution to create a science and innovation park where private companies can locate to research new technologies and next generation manufacturing jobs.

Enact a Missouri Manufacturing Jobs Act to promote the competitiveness of Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, along with thousands of other small and large manufacturers in our State.

Creation of Port improvement districts along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers and international airports to promote commercial operations.

Support companies who locate their large data storage facilities in Missouri in such places as the Hunt Midwest caves right here in Clay County.

Enact a Missouri Manufacturing Jobs Act to promote the competitiveness of Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, along with thousands of other small and large manufacturers in our State.

A government cannot tax and spend to promote prosperity. Our regulatory and tax system must be maintained in a way that encourages honest profits, more private investment and savings. There is no way that a gGovernment cannot create a long-term job that adds productivity to the economy;, but a successful business can and will. We have tomust have a system that says "yes" to private sector job creation, "yes" to small businesses and "yes" to the entrepreneurial spirit of Missourians.
