A familiar speaker and political writer said that to make meaningful change in America we must concentrate on electing good people in the approximately 500,000 publicly elected offices in the nation. The office I seek is one of those.
As a State Representative I will commit to a high level of integrity in all I do. There have been too many stories of less than admirable behavior in the public arena. I have tried to be an example of integrity in my own family, especially to my children. I believe deeply in the The common philosophy of thinking about what you do when no one is watching- I take that very seriously. I strive to honor my wife, my family and my commitments to the very best of my ability. I also expect others around me to hold me accountable to these idealsto it if they see otherwise.
No person has the answers to every problem. The only thing that can be promised is to hold to a set of shared community values of our community and consult with affectedthe stakeholders to which any decision will affect. I believe if we leverage the talents, gifts and abilities of each and every person, we can and will find solutions to complex problems. Then I can base any vote or decision I make on the input from others and my core beliefs. As a Representative I pledge to communicate must be confident in how a decisions arewas reached, even to those that inevitably disagree with a specific decision. and be able to communicate that. Will everyone agree, probably not. An inspirational writer once said "Good people accept accountability, great people ask for it." I will commit to being accountable for what I do.
