Heidi Heitkamp is making stops across North Dakota today, telling people why she whole-heartedly disagrees with Congressman Berg's support of the Paul Ryan budget. Heitkamp told more than 60 people here in Fargo that the budget would cut $30 billion in farm programs critical to North Dakota.
The democratic senate candidate also made stops in Bismarck and Grand Forks. She also expressed concern over what the budget would do to health care costs for seniors.
Heidi Heitkamp -- (D) Running for US Senate: "They're trying to shift the increased costs of Medicare onto the user; onto the person that needs it, so seniors are loser in the Berg plan."
In response, Berg's team says the new budget actually upholds the Medicare guarantee and ensures seniors will always be able to afford health care benefits.
