As some in the media may already know, the Democratic Governors Association -- Vice-Chaired By Governor Perdue -- has paid over $100,000 to a Washington DC-based opposition research firm that requested thousands of documents from Pat McCrory's 14-year tenure as Mayor. These documents have been poured over by Governor Perdue's political committee to create a web of distortions and false accusations via the internet and and television ads. The McCrory Committee is pleased to provide the same travel records to the media today as well.
While serving in Government, Pat had a long record of openness and transparency, routinely providing emails, documents, and other records to the public and media. During his tenure as Mayor of Charlotte, he led an open and honest city government through a period of unprecedented growth and job-creation.
To continue this record of transparency and openness, the Pat McCrory Committee today is releasing all of the Mayor's travel records from his fourteen year service.
While Walter Dalton and his political allies attempt to smear Pat's open, ethical and transparent service as Mayor, Pat McCrory continues to show that he is dedicated to keeping his campaign for Governor honest and factual. Pat also disagrees with Walter Dalton's refusal to make his daily schedule available to the media if elected. (Read about that here) Pat believes that the daily activities of North Carolina's next governor should not be shrouded in secrecy.
