Keith Rothfus, candidate for Congress (PA-12), today reflected upon the alarming news that unemployment is on the rise in America.
"The May jobs numbers released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics are a solemn reminder that the economic condition of our country remains in a tenuous state," said Rothfus. "This data is proof positive that the big government policies advocated by Congressman Mark Critz and President Barack Obama are failing American workers and their families. It's past time to get government out of the way of and re-light the American economy, the American spirit, and the American dream."
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, nationwide unemployment has risen to 8.2% and the number of jobs added in May fell woefully short of projections.
"Responsibility for these numbers lies at the feet of our elected leaders," concluded Rothfus. "Unfortunately, Mr. Critz and President Obama have been grossly ineffective and habitually misguided in addressing our country's economic problems. I am confident that I possess the leadership skills and private sector experience that voters are looking for to turn our prospects around and am working hard to earn their support in November."
