I believe schools are best managed at a local level with the parents of the students doing the managing. Healthy relationships between parents and teachers ultimately provide the best environment for learning wherein both parties support, understand and respect each other as a means to provide the best learning environment possible for the student. Charter schools and home schooling both have a place in Idaho Education, and I am most generally supportive of them. Trade schools have increased in Idaho over the last decade and I believe this is a route some students would prefer to go rather than a four year institution. On the University level, I would like to see our colleges stop trying to expand out of their state given charters. We are too small a state with limited resources to continue duplicating programs in an effort to make our universities be all things to all people. I am fervent U of I Vandal.
