Baucus: Women Deserve Equal Pay

Location: Washington, DC

Montana's senior U.S. Senator Max Baucus issued the following statement today after Paycheck Fairness Act fails in Senate:

"Women work as hard as men, and deserve to be paid fairly and equally. The Paycheck Fairness Act would have closed the wage gap, boosted our economy and helped Montana's middle-class families.

In Montana, women who work full time make almost $11,000 less than men who work full time-and that's just plain wrong. This bill was defeated today, but I'll keep up the fight for Montana women and middle class families, because all Montanans deserve to be paid fairly for their hard work."
