Udall Congratulates Regional Airports on Receiving $15.6 Million for Infrastructure Improvement

Mark Udall congratulated 17 airports across Colorado on receiving $15.6 million in grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation for infrastructure improvement projects, ranging from improvements to taxiways in La Junta to the construction of a new terminal in Grand Junction.

"Colorado's regional airports form important links for businesses and travelers throughout the state," Udall said. "Improving Colorado's transportation network is one of the most important things we can do to support our local communities and local businesses. These grants are important down payments on maintaining the connections that our global economy requires."

According to the Department of Transportation, the agency awarded:

$4.05 million to the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Jefferson County
$2.1 million to the Grand Junction Regional Airport
$1.9 million to the Aspen-Pitkin County/Sardy Field Airport
$1.8 million to the Eagle County Regional Airport
$1.6 million to the Durango-La Plata County Airport
$750,000 to the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport
$600,000 to the La Junta Municipal Airport
$555,485 to the Lamar Municipal Airport
$466,788 to the Limon Municipal Airport
$461,565 to the Stevens Field Airport in Pagosa Springs
$468,000 to the Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport
$228,797 to the Rangely Airport
$165,662 to the Yuma Municipal Airport
$151,781 to the Garfield County Regional Airport
$150,000 to the Erie Municipal Airport
$150,000 to the Vance Brand Airport in Longmont
$81,000 to the Cortez Municipal Airport
