The South Coast is unique. Because of our distance from the Willamette Valley and the Portland metro area, access to transportation is at the heart of the viability of our communities. Investment in transportation and infrastructure is the key to rebuilding our economy and will continue to be one of Caddy's top priorities in Salem.
As a Port Commissioner, Caddy continues to play a central role in the purchase and rehabilitation of the Coos Bay Rail Line helping to restore a crucial link for commerce and trade on the South Coast. She is also working to deepen the port of Coos Bay shipping channel to expand the capacity of cargo movement through the port, and to bring new technologies such as off-shore wind energy to the region. Taking advantage of our natural assets to build a diverse economy means jobs for the district.
