Issue Position: Jobs and the Economy

Job creation and economic prosperity are a byproduct of constitutionally regulated government. Extra-constitutional burdens placed of businesses by job-killing bureaucracies are unlawful. Environmental protection and labor relations have no place in Washington DC where cronyism obstructs American's abilities to thrive.

Our founders had it right, they believed as I do in the free-market principles of minimal regulation to increase competition, spur innovation and encourage the investment of private capital to foster organic economic growth.

Why do people continue to ask politicians, what they are going to do about creating jobs? Government cannot create wealth, it can only consume it.

The responsibility of Congress according to the Constitution is to insure each individual citizen has the right to pursue their vision for their life. To enjoy the benefits of their hard work by being able to invest, spend or donate their money as they see fit. It is NOT to take tax dollars to provide goods and services which we should be providing for ourselves.

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government."
-Thomas Jefferson

The argument then becomes, what about the poor? There is always the poor in any society. Most every college student graduates from college poor. Being poor is usually one phase in our lives and most of us will be "poor" at some time or another.

"The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself."
-Benjamin Franklin

I will work hard to eliminate special interest schemes from taking precedence over the interests of the American people.
