Where's Martin? Congressman Heinrich Skips Important Vote to Secure Border

Press Release

Date: May 31, 2012
Location: Albuquerque, NM

Rep. Martin Heinrich skipped an important vote Wednesday that would help law enforcement combat crime along our borders, demonstrating that the liberal congressman isn't serious about securing our borders to keep America safe.

"With violence on the rise along our southern border, Congressman Heinrich had the opportunity to secure our borders and keep America safe.
Unfortunately, he had other plans," Wilson for Senate spokesman Christopher Sanchez said. "What's more important to Congressman Heinrich than voting to combat crime along our borders? We need a United States senator who understands the threat along our borders -- someone who will keep America safe."

Wednesday's vote would establish a Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST) program within Immigration and Customs Enforcement to coordinate efforts among federal, state and local border and law enforcement officials to combat crime along and across the international borders of the United States.
