The People for Animal Welfare of New Mexico (PAW of NM) announced its endorsement today of Martin Heinrich in the democratic primary election for U.S. Senate in New Mexico. PAW of NM is an organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, the promotion of humane animal care and the reduction of the unwanted pet population in New Mexico. PAW of NM has over 2,400 members across New Mexico.
"Martin Heinrich understands that we have a responsibility to ensure that animals receive humane care and protection from cruelty and exploitation," said Ralph Levine, co-founder of PAW NM. "People for Animal Welfare of New Mexico is proud to endorse Martin Heinrich. New Mexico voters who care about animals won't find a better candidate for US Senate."
"I've always believed that our pets and animals must be protected from cruelty and mistreatment," said Martin Heinrich. "I'm proud to have the support of PAW of NM and will continue to be a strong advocate for the compassionate treatment of animals."
Heinrich's campaign for the United States Senate has received strong support from animal welfare advocacy groups in New Mexico including Animal Protection Voters of New Mexico and the Humane Society Legislative Fund.
