Sussex County Leaders Endorse Joe Kyrillos for U.S. Senate

Press Release

Date: April 24, 2012

Today, prominent Republican leaders in the legislature and the Sussex County community formally endorsed Joe Kyrillos for United States Senate. Kyrillos momentum continues statewide.

Sussex County Republican Committee Chairman Ailish Hambel said, "Gas prices are soaring, our national debt continues to rise and the U.S. Senate refuses to pass a budget. We need bold leadership in Washington to set America back on the right track, not more of the same status-quo from Bob Menendez. Americans cannot afford to continue down this path, and Sussex County residents cannot afford another six years of Bob Menendez. I am proud to support Joe Kyrillos for United States Senate."

Senator Joe Kyrillos said, "I am gratified and humbled to have the support of Chairman Hambel, my Sussex County colleagues in the legislature and so many respected leaders from Sussex County. Everything is at stake in this election year. The big government policies coming out of our nation's capital are destroying opportunities for people back home in Sussex County and throughout our beloved state. My opponent promises only more of the same: more taxes, more spending and more job-killing regulations. But as I travel the Garden State, the message is clear: New Jerseyans simply cannot afford more of the same. I look forward to being a United States Senator of which Sussex County and all New Jersey residents can be proud."

Kyrillos also received the endorsements of the following elected officials in Sussex County: Senator Steve Oroho, Assemblyman Gary Chiusano, Assemblywoman Alison Littell McHose, County Sheriff Mike Strada, County Clerk Jeff Parrott, Freeholder Director Phillip R. Crabb, Freeholder Parker Space, Freeholder Rich Vohden, Freeholder Susan Zellman and Freeholder Rich Zeoli.

Kyrillos has also been endorsed by Governor Chris Christie and the Atlantic, Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset and Union County Republican Organizations.

Senator Joseph M. Kyrillos, Jr., 51, is married to Susan Doctorian Kyrillos and they live in Middletown with their children Max and Georgia. He began serving New Jersey's 13th Legislative District in 1988 when he was elected to the General Assembly. After spending two terms in the Assembly he was elected to the Senate where he has served since 1993. In addition to his official duties, the Senator is employed as Senior Managing Director of Colliers International, the commercial real estate services firm with offices in New York and Parsippany. He is also an advisor to the Newport Capital Group in Red Bank, NJ.
