Congressman Jon Runyan earned his third major endorsement in as many weeks today, as the International Association of Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers announced their official support for the freshman Republicans' re-election bid in New Jersey's Third District.
So far this month, Rep. Runyan has been endorsed by the United States Chamber of Commerce and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825, demonstrating his broad support from both business and labor groups whose primary focus is creating jobs and growing the economy.
The Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers are affiliated with the AFL-CIO, Building & Construction Trades Department and their members span South Jersey and the Delaware Valley. Their area of expertise includes applying thermal insulation to pipes, ducts, tanks, boilers, refrigeration equipment and other surfaces, as well as manufacturing, assembling, spraying, repairing, dismantling, reconditioning, corrosive control, testing, and maintenance of heat or frost insulation. They also handle the removal of asbestos containing materials.
"Congressman Runyan has been a friend to working families in Congress and has embraced key legislative initiatives that will help keep our members working and contributing to South Jersey's economic recovery," said General President James Grogan, whose official endorsement letter lauded Rep. Runyan's address to the Building and Construction Trades Legislative Conference in late April. "Having Members of Congress like Jon Runyan, who are willing to put people before party labels, has earned him our support in this year's election."
Rep. Runyan thanked the union membership for their endorsement of his candidacy. "I am grateful for this key endorsement, and to have the strong support of so many working families in our district," said Rep. Runyan. "I look forward to continuing to back common sense policies geared towards promoting job creation and growing our economy so we can get our country headed in the right direction again."
