Issue Position: Pittenger Pledges Conservative Tax Reform

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2012
Issues: Taxes

As a small-business owner, Robert Pittenger knows the effect that high taxes have on job creation. Pittenger, the conservative, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in North Carolina's 9th District, has experience cutting waste, which will in turn lower taxes and spur economic growth and job creation.

"I'll work to free people from their tax burden so they'll have more money to do what's best for their families and businesses," said Pittenger. "Small-business owners create jobs and put people to work, but they can't do that when they're weighed down by taxes. Lower taxes encourage business owners to invest and hire more people."

Pittenger has signed the Americans for Tax Reform Taxpayer Protection Pledge. As a State Senator, he was awarded the Tax Advocate Award by Americans for Prosperity and served as Caucus Chair for Americans for Tax Reform. He never once voted to increase taxes.
