Kathleen Kane has prosecuted thousands of criminals. From home invasions, drugs, robbery, sexual assaults, child pornography, domestic violence to murder. Kathleen has a tough record of prosecuting crime. Her vast experience spans from the crime scene to the courtroom.

As a Prosecutor, Kathleen Kane:

*Prosecuted and convicted drug dealers and sought mandatory prison sentences for the defendants charged.
*Co-prosecuted to conviction a defendant charged with the murder of a young woman.
*Assisted in investigating and apprehending a suspect involved in the shooting death of a young police officer in New Jersey. The case had been unsolved for forty years. Within a 22 hour time span, she approved search warrant affidavits, identified key players, secured a search warrant for the defendant's residence, coordinated surveillance, obtained a search warrant for bullet wounds and fingerprints which ultimately secured the apprehension and extradition of this defendant. He was later convicted in New Jersey for his part in that murder.
*Found justice for a mother and young daughter held at knife point and bound in their home by a man whom they trusted. The defendant was convicted and sent to prison.

Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence and Child Abuse

Spending a significant portion of her career with the Abuse/Sexual Assault unit in the Lackawanna County District Attorney's office, Kathleen has seen first hand the horrors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.

As a Prosecutor, Kathleen Kane:

*Prosecuted and obtained the first conviction in Lackawanna County under the newly created Sexual Assault statute, referred to as the "No means No" law.
*Co-prosecuted to conviction a former boyfriend who kidnapped, sexually assaulted and beat the mother of his child. She was then dumped from the moving car. The case gained national attention for the innovative method used to protect the victim pending trial.
*Protected children by prosecuting those who possess and distribute child pornography.
*Fought and achieved justice for countless physically and sexually abused children by convicting dozens of violent sexual offenders.
