Silvestre Reyes uses his connections to people like Bill Clinton and Nancy Pelosi when he's trying to save his seat in Congress, but where are these connections when we need them?
Where are they when our VA is ranked the worst in the country, meaning that El Paso veterans have to wait months to see a doctor and years to get disability claims resolved? Where are they when we have the longest bridge wait times along the U.S. Mexico border, threatening tens of thousands of jobs in a city that already has 10% unemployment?
If Mr. Reyes wants to talk about his friends, how about Chilo Madrid, Sonny Garcia, Willie Gandara, and Anthony Cobos? If President Clinton knew about Reyes' links to corruption I'm confident he wouldn't be coming.
After knocking on nearly 15,000 doors, I know that instead of endorsements from high profile national politicians, El Pasoans want good jobs, a VA that works and a Congressman who is responsive to their needs and not associated with corruption.
The only endorsement I care about is the one from the voters in El Paso.
