Blog: On To June 5th

Statement

Date: May 9, 2012

My fellow Wisconsinites -- I'm humbled and honored tonight to accept the Democratic nomination for Lt. Governor. I can't thank you enough for your support as we to try to bring our state back together, and move beyond the rancor and division of the past 18 months.

I want to thank my supporters, especially those who gave their time to help gather signatures, knock on doors, and make phone calls over the past weeks, and those who gave financial contributions to help us get our message out.

I look forward to working with Tom Barrett and the great candidates running for State Senate as we spend the next 4 weeks finishing the job & reclaiming our state.

If elected Lt. Governor, I'll work to bring the "all hands working" mindset of the fire service to our state capitol. I'll look for ways to involve people of diverse views & backgrounds in finding commonsense solutions to create jobs here in Wisconsin, and make sure every day that the voice of the people always has a say in our policy decisions.

I thank the voters of Wisconsin for this opportunity, and I ask for your support again in the general recall election on June 5th. Together we can get this state back on track.
