Today, Pat McCrory announced the addition of two staff members to his campaign team. Ricky Diaz, former Director of Media Affairs to Governor Chris Christie, will serve as Press Secretary and Matthew McKillip of the American Enterprise Institute will serve as Policy and Research Coordinator.
"We are building a winning campaign team," said Pat McCrory. "Ricky and Matt's unique background and experience will allow this campaign to effectively coordinate and communicate how we're going to turn North Carolina around."
Ricky -- who also served as Deputy Director of Communications to U.S. Senator Richard Burr's 2010 campaign and e-Campaign Manager for Chris Christie's successful 2009 bid for Governor of New Jersey -- will lead the campaign's press coordination and outreach efforts. He holds an Economics degree from Vanderbilt University and is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
Matthew McKillip, who specialized in domestic policy research at the American Enterprise Institute, will coordinate policy and research for the campaign. He holds a degree in English and Government from Georgetown University.
Both Ricky and Matthew will work out of the Pat McCrory Committee's Headquarters in Raleigh.
