My view on this issue is very simple. Local school boards should decide whether to utilize electronic content in addition to or instead of textbooks or not, depending on the needs of their local school district. The goal is a 21st century delivery platform for instructional materials in a cost-effective manner. It's just that simple. This was one of the goals of SB 6 passed by the Texas Legislature in 2011. I applaud the Texas Legislature for providing more local control over instructional materials funding and decision-making.
