Congressman Bob Turner (NY-09) released the following statement calling on President Obama to demand Iran end its delay tactics and return to the negotiating table immediately.
"As expected, Iran is proving that their willingness to participate in negotiations on its nuclear program is nothing more than a dog and pony show. Iran's delay tactics are just an opportunity to enrich more uranium and hide its equipment. It is time that the charades come to an end. No more five week delays in talks. We need serious and meaningful negotiations to take place now, before it is too late. The President must take this seriously and demand Iran's leaders come back to the table until a final deal is made. A line in the sand has to be drawn, and real consequences must be presented before the Iranian government develops a nuclear weapon. Iran's recent threats towards Israel leave no question as to what their intentions would be if it attained a weapon that could kill millions."
Congressman Bob Turner represents New York's 9th Congressional district and serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, and House Committee on Homeland Security.
