U.S. Senator Kay R. Hagan (NC) today applauded the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and Director Richard Cordray for hosting a hearing in Durham to learn how the bureau can best protect consumers in the financial products and services market.
"Whether applying for a mortgage, paying off student loans or choosing a credit card, American consumers need and deserve products and services that are safe and transparent," said Hagan. "I applaud Mr. Cordray and the CFPB for working to ensure that financial products and services work for our North Carolina families. I will continue working with Mr. Cordray and the CFPB to ensure that our families, seniors, veterans and active duty military are protected from financial abuses."
Today's hearing is part of the CFPB's effort to regularly engage with communities across the country to hear from the public about consumer financial products and services.
