On Tuesday, April 3rd, Protect Marriage Maryland (PMM) endorsed Tony O'Donnell for Congress.

Robert Broadus, PMM Chairman, stated the following,

We have looked at and considered the candidates running for political office in Maryland, and we have unanimously agreed to give our endorsement to Tony O'Donnell. As House Minority Leader, Mr. O'Donnell has been at the forefront of championing the cause of traditional marriage in the Maryland legislature. He has also made defending marriage part of his political campaign, and has spoken out in defense of marriage as part of his campaign appearances. In contrast, the Democratic incumbent, Steny Hoyer, has spoken out in support of same-sex marriage and expanding special rights to the LGBT community.

Protect Marriage Maryland therefore gives Tony O'Donnell our strongest endorsement for election over his opponent in November.

While we are not giving endorsements in any other Congressional races in this election, there are many great candidates who have stated they will stand for protecting marriage as a union between a man and a woman. Several "Protect Marriage" signs have also appeared next to candidate signs around the state, so we hope you will take note when you go to the polls.

As a Political Action Committee, Protect Marriage Maryland's goal is to influence elections and legislation related to preserving marriage between a man and a woman in Maryland.

Tony O'Donnell said, "I am grateful to have their endorsement. Protecting traditional marriage as an institution between one man and one woman is very important. It is the basis of every civilization in human history."

The O'Donnell for Congress campaign is working with others to gather signatures for the same-sex marriage law to go to referendum in November for the citizens of Maryland decide how marriage should be defined.
