Congresswoman Betty Sutton (OH-13) released the following statement in response to President Obama's announcement that he supports same-sex marriage:

"Future generations will look back on the actions taken today to end discrimination in all of its forms as a watershed moment. Every American deserves a chance at the American Dream, with no exception. The President's actions today represent progress in fulfilling our nation's commitment to equality for all Americans."

A strong supporter of equality for all, Sutton voted to end "Don't Ask, Don't Tell' in the 111th Congress, and is an original co-sponsor of H.R. 1397, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act.
