Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-7) released the following statement this morning regarding the Department of Labor's unemployment report for April 2012:
"Job growth is weak because job creators lack certainty in the marketplace and they lack confidence in Washington to fix our broken economy. President Obama and Democratic leaders in Washington have not put forth a serious plan.
"Just last week we marked the third year since the Senate adopted a budget -- a national blueprint on how to get our Nation's fiscal house in order. President Obama's last two budgets failed to receive a single vote in either the U.S. House or U.S. Senate respectively because the President's proposals lacked serious solutions to our economic and fiscal problems. House Republicans have adopted a budget that will lift the burden of debt and government regulations that are hindering our economic growth and robust job creation. We need a responsible plan to pay down our debt and give our economy the certainty it needs to grow jobs. Otherwise, we will continue to be disappointed with the unemployment figures.
"The House Republican record is clear: reduce spending, reform our tax code, address exploding entitlement spending and expand American energy production through projects like the Keystone XL pipeline. Adoption of a credible federal budget like the House-passed plan will provide our economy and job creators the certainty and relief they desperately need."
