Today Senator Dan Coats (R-Ind.), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, issued the following statement calling on the administration to investigate the disclosure of intelligence information to the media regarding the recently thwarted al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) plot.
"These irresponsible disclosures of highly sensitive information risk American lives, compromise classified operations, and undermine the hard work and sacrifice made by our intelligence officers and partners overseas," said Coats. "I urge the White House to initiate an exhaustive investigation into all those responsible for these serious national security violations. Those responsible must be held accountable."
