Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05) issued the following statement on today's April Unemployment Report:
"If you look beyond the numbers, the picture painted by today's report is dismal. We see that more Americans have simply given up looking for work. The number of discouraged workers rose 12 percent last month. The number of Americans settling for part-time work is also up. Millions more Americans are working lower-paying jobs for which they are over-qualified because the new jobs created last month were overwhelmingly lower-paying service industry jobs, as opposed high-paying manufacturing jobs.
"We need to promote policies in Washington that will give job creators more confidence to invest and grow their businesses. Businesses are sitting on millions of untapped investment dollars right now because they are uncertain about new regulations and higher taxes from the Obama Administration." -- Doug Lamborn (CO-05)
