SECRETARY CLINTON: Good afternoon. I am delighted to welcome His Royal Highness here to the State Department. Bahrain is a valued ally of the United States. We partner on many important issues of mutual concern to each of our nations and to the regional and global concerns as well. I'm looking forward to a chance to talk over with His Royal Highness a number of the issues both internally and externally that Bahrain is dealing with and have some better understanding of the ongoing efforts that the Government of Bahrain is undertaking.
So again, Your Royal Highness, welcome to the United States.

CROWN PRINCE AL-KHALIFA: Thank you so much.

SECRETARY CLINTON: Thank you, sir.

CROWN PRINCE AL-KHALIFA: Madam Secretary, we'd just like to thank the Secretary for receiving myself and my delegation today. I am here to discuss, as she so eloquently put it, the continuing development in my country and to reiterate our support for the reform process that we have initiated in Bahrain. We are living in challenging times and I think we are concerned with the outcomes. We are concerned with helping the people of Bahrain overcome a very difficult year, and I am -- I, alongside many others, will be doing our best to make sure that that happens.

SECRETARY CLINTON: Thank you, sir.

CROWN PRINCE AL-KHALIFA: Thank you.

SECRETARY CLINTON: Thank you.
