U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10), Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Border and Maritime Security, today made the following statement in regards to the foiled terror plot to bomb an airliner:
"I applaud the great work of the CIA, the FBI and our international partners in detecting and foiling this plot to kill innocent Americans. One thing is very clear the global war on terror is not over. There are still enemies of freedom who are bent on attacking this nation. Americans should be comforted in the knowledge that we have such outstanding professionals on the front lines everyday working to detect and disrupt such plots before they can be launched, and we need to continue to provide them with the tools, training and support they need to keep us safe. We must also understand that our enemies are resilient and need only get it right once while those detailed to stop them must get it right every time and we must continue to be eternally vigilant."
