On National Teacher Day, I would like to recognize and thank all of the dedicated teachers that day in and day out work so hard to educate our children. Your tireless efforts on behalf of students everywhere are greatly appreciated.
Ensuring that all children, regardless of cultural or socioeconomic background, have access to the quality education they need to succeed in the 21st century remains one of my highest priorities. In light of the current budget constraints on local governments and soaring federal budget deficits, I am working hard to maintain the federal government's commitment to America's schools and to all of our children. And that begins with our educators.
We must continue to work to make sure that our teachers remain a priority. Good teachers should get good pay, work in safe schools, and have access to all of the resources you need to help kids get the education they need to succeed. Our children are our future. They will invent, lead and discover. But that would not be possible without the help and support of a great teacher.
Thank you teachers for all you do.
