Today Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen issued the following statement in recognition of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, which is the month of May:

"I'm honored to join my fellow Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus members in celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. This is an opportunity to recognize the contributions and sacrifices that Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have made for our country, as well as celebrate the diversity that makes our nation so great."
