U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Village of Fayetteville has received a $705,000 grant and a $1,000,000 loan through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of Rural Development. The funds will be used to construct a new wastewater treatment plant to replace the existing facility.

"These are important federal resources, as wastewater treatment is one of the greatest infrastructure needs our country faces," said Costello. "This is a huge priority for state and local governments. Clean water is critical for public health and economic development, and I will continue to support this type of project."
