Sen. Brown Applauds Senate Passage of Violence Against Women Act

Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Scott Brown (R-MA) issued the following statement after the Senate passed the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (S. 1925) today:

"For me, this issue is personal, and I am pleased that the Senate reauthorized the Violence Against Women Act today. There are countless organizations in Massachusetts and throughout the country that are making a difference in the lives of survivors, and this funding will help them continue their very important work. This bill sends a positive message to those women; you are not alone in your fight. We must continue to do everything in our power to ensure that millions of women, including my mother, who have been in these types of situations have the support they need."

Senator Brown is a cosponsor of the Violence Against Women Act.
