As a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and a member of the Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues, I am a supporter of a strong U.S.-Greek relationship. Today, there are over 1.3 million American citizens of Greek ancestry residing in the United States, and a thriving Greek-American cultural community. Our political tradition is steeped in Greek philosophical thought. Greece is a strategic U.S. ally, and I have worked to strengthen cooperation between Athens and Washington.
