With women still only paid 77 cents for every dollar that men earn, Rep. Honda has consistently pushed his colleagues for pay parity and has signed onto numerous pieces of legislation, including the Paycheck Fairness Act and the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, that would finally end the gender pay gap. As an advocate for freedom of religious expression, he has also urged the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to stop misuse of the "reasonable accommodation clause," which is often skewed to allow companies to put employees with visible articles of faith in backrooms due to "corporate image" policies.
