Indian Ambassador Rao, Ros-Lehtinen Discuss U.S.-India Partnership

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, met earlier today with Indian Ambassador to the United States Nirupama Rao to discuss the U.S.-India relationship. Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:

"The ever-expanding partnership between the U.S. and India has never been more vital as we work together to ensure peace and security in the Asia-Pacific region, combat extremists, enhance stability in Afghanistan, and build an agenda for shared prosperity.

"The future is bright for the U.S.-India partnership, which continues to further both nations' goals of peace and stability in the region. I look forward to future meetings with Ambassador Rao and for the continued vibrancy of this important alliance."
