U.S. Senator Mary L. Landrieu, D-La., released the following statement on Darryl Kilbert's announcement that he will be stepping down as Superintendent of Orleans Parish Schools:
"I commend Superintendent Kilbert for his service over the past six years as the superintendent of the Orleans Parish School Board. Under his leadership, OPSB schools have made significant academic progress. Superintendent Kilbert has been a bridge builder, open to considering different sides of educational debates while keeping a constant focus on what matters most: student achievement. I wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career."
