Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (D-Palo Alto) released today the National Highway Traffic Administration's (NHTSA) response to her inquiry regarding reports of uncontrollable shaking, or "wobble," in the front suspension of some late model Jeep Wranglers.

"It's a relief to know that there haven't been any reports of severe injury or death due to 'wobble' to warrant further investigation, but anyone who has experienced it has clearly been frightened," Rep. Eshoo said. "That's why I'm asking the auto manufacturer to inform its customers about this potential problem and direct them to take immediate action if any vibrations occur. Anyone experiencing the problem needs to report it to NHTSA at safercar.gov. The agency's ability to take action to correct safety problems in cars and trucks is only as good as the consumer data submitted."
