The office of Nevada Senator Harry Reid today hosted a discussion forum on non-profit sustainability and grant funding. The half-day program at the Clark County Library brought together federal funding experts from more than ten government agencies to speak with Nevada-based organizations about best practices for applying for federal grants.
"I am pleased this forum brought together federal funding experts so Nevada's organizations could learn more about the federal grant process," said Reid. "It is important Nevada's non-profit organizations work together and are competitive in their proposals and I hope today's discussion helps achieve this."
More than two hundred individuals attended the grant forum which featured a panel discussion on non-profit sustainability moderated by Julie Marray, President and CEO of the Moonridge Group. Panelists included Kim Patton, Training Coordinator at the Foundation Center, Gian Brosco, President, Nevada Community Foundation, and Dr. Robert Lang, Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institute's Metropolitan Policy Program.
The Moonridge Group, The Lincy Institute, Clark County Library, KLAS-TV Channel 8 News Now Community Pride Program, Zions Bank Public Finance, Nevada Energy, and Findlay Automotive Group were official partners of the forum.
