Continuing his efforts to get Louisiana veterans the health clinics they deserve, Acadiana Veteran and Congressman Jeff Landry (R, LA-03) today announced the hiring of retired Army Sergeant Don "Tuffy" Resweber to serve as Special Projects Coordinator for Veterans.
"As we continue to fight for our American heroes, we must explore all options to make these veterans health clinics realities," said Landry. "That is why today, I am dedicating a staff member solely to the Southwest Louisiana veterans health clinics. He will meet with our local veterans, work with officials from the Veterans Administration (VA), and research ways to get the clinics as quickly and efficiently as possible."
Landry's latest move on the VA clinics was welcomed news to Acadiana veterans. "As a veteran himself, Congressman Landry knows the sacrifices our brave men and women have made fighting for our country. Since day one, Congressman Landry has put our veterans first. I appreciate all Congressman Landry does for our veterans and look forward to working with Mr. Resweber," said Iberia Veteran Johnny Hebert.
Landry, a veteran who has 4 veterans on his staff, also expressed hope that the Veterans Administration's Real Property Division will consider all time-saving and cost-saving options to get the clinics back on track: "We should honor our American heroes with the care they deserve. I hope the VA will look at all options available, including using available existing facilities and utilizing the sole source procurement process, to expedite the clinics our veterans deserve."
