Withdraw our troops from Afghanistan

My experiences growing up with a father in the military has a big influence on my view of the war in Afghanistan.

I'm very concerned with the impact of this conflict on the members of the armed forces and their families. I want to make sure that we honor the service and commitment of everyone that has sacrificed so much in Afghanistan.

Currently, Afghan's government is rife in corruption at the highest levels, cultivating a booming narcotics industry and aggravating tribal and ethic rivalries. Ultimately, I believe that our focus should be on supporting the Afghan people in educating their children and families on options that will strengthen their ability to govern, support civil society, fight corruption, and help to rebuild their country.

I support the current effort to withdraw troops as expeditiously as possible in a way that doesn't endanger the security of our troops or our country.
